I still remember hopping off of my bicycle during a morning ride in Spring 2005 scrambling to scratch down the lyrics of a song that was earnestly flowing into my eagerly opening heart. Searching the sky with the eyes of my heart, feeling the sounds and voice of the Eagle bringing a prayer for the sacred circle, “Raise your wings, to sky, feel the winds rushing by…” I penciled notes on a crumpled grocery receipt, the only paper I could find in the pocket of my windbreaker.
The song “Sacred Circle” was birthed during my most intense period of shamanic study, finding my voice as a shamanic artist and healer, making the journey into my greatest strengths and gifts as a medium, finding my place in the fabric of all beings.
One year passed, layer upon layer and verse upon verse I finished the final lyrics on the morning of my second recording session at Jack Straw Studio. “Mystery, set me free…..My Soul is Home, when you’re with me….”
I chose the Mask of Salmon Woman above, for this video presentation because she speaks to the heart of the circle of life and respect for the connections we all share. The people in my region tell this story of Salmon woman and her children, what happens when we take for granted our place in the circle of life.
I am honored by my painting sisters to share their beautiful imagery along with the music. We painted and expressed the magic we felt while honoring this Sacred Circle and what it means to each of us.
We are artists honoring the responsible stewardship of Earth and her body, her energy and faithful endless cycles of birth, life, death and rebirth.

This music video was first released on March 20, 2015 to coincide with the Spring Equinox. It is also my gift to the Making Artful Prayers initiative created by Deborah Milton and Jane Cunningham in the facebook group “Praying True”.
The intention of Making Artful Prayers is an honoring of this Sacred Circle of Life and how we as a race of people can make heard the voices of Earth and all of her creatures, awakening us to the importance of responsible stewardship and love for our planetary home.
Thank you for going on this journey with us.
